The Inside Scoop

Fred Martin, our tireless Director of Development at Grebel (and recently named Start-Up Manager of the new Centre for Peace Advancement) got a tour of the inside of the new addition. Today we'll share some of those pictures and tidbits with you.

First of all, a beautiful, snowy shot of the outside of our tarped-up building. Tarps cover in the block walls that are being laid to create the archive vault that is at the heart of the 3rd floor. Winter construction has its challenges but the heaters are making it possible for the Nith Valley team to keep moving ahead.

On the second floor, the Ron and Barbara Schlegel Community education room is taking shape. Its large windows will bring in lots of light and inspiration for participants in our Conflict Management Certificate program.

Also on the second floor, this is a view from the new addition looking towards the former PACS offices. The outside wall has been removed so that you are actually looking into Lowell Ewert and Nathan Funk's former offices. This space will become the new front office, opening out onto the entrance lobby.

Again on the second floor, this is from within the new addition looking towards the long end of the atrium (currently a construction zone as well). The long end of the atrium will be extended a bit into the new addition, and will then make a 90 degree turn into the new main lobby.

Much of the work these days is happening inside, so it is a bit less visible to us, but we can certainly hear it!
