New Things

It's September, the beginning of the New Year for all practical purposes, and along with a crowd of new students, we have some new spaces too!

The above is our previous classroom 1110, now transformed into a faculty office, an electronic music lab (being temporarily used as a gamelan room) and three practice rooms. There are wood panels in the door windows because the glass guy hasn't shown up yet. These spaces will really help out during our "crunch" term.

This is our gamelan (a traditional Balinese instrument) in its temporary home. It was welcomed here with incense and fruit, and the students signed up for the ensemble are starting to figure it out. The first time they started playing it, we thought the fire alarm was going off, because the tone was the same!

Last but not least, our newest sidewalk. They've evened out the grade and widened it, and included a little pad for our bike racks.
